World Book Day was celebrated at St. Matthias, which of course included students and staff dressing up as their favourite book character! Throughout the day there were a variety of reading themed competitions for students to take part in, some lucky students found Golden Tickets in their English workbooks! During break and lunch, a book swap was held along with a very popular cake and samosa sale, £156.35 was raised which will go towards buying new books for our Reading Room.
In addition to our WBD celebrations in school, we visited Birmingham with a group of regular Reading room attendees. Visiting Foyles bookstore, Birmingham Library and Sealife Centre.
